A Wish

A wish I have, a wish so small,
Of air but clean, of orchids more,
Of hatred less, of laughter galore,
A world we lived, but not anymore.
Where religion grew us into one,
Where skin color was less of a judge,
Where hatred less and empathy more,
Defined our existence and made up our soul.
I heard that once upon a time,
There was an earth that claimed this right,
A blissful place it used to be,
With desires less, and concern more.
A wish I have, a wish so small,
To be reborn, on the earth they say,
A paradise was, until man’s lust,
For power brought it to its hell.
